Overview

ABeSa ambulante Hilfen GmbH is a service provider for Social Integration Assistance as well as for Youth & and Family Support in Hamburg.

ABeSa is derived from „ambulante Betreuung (community based
support), Beratung (advice) and Assistenz (assistance) in der Sozialarbeit“
(in social work).

The organization was established in 2005 after signing a service
agreement with the Hamburg Government. The first office opened in
Wilhelmsburg and has now grown to ABeSa providing community based
support work to clients in the Hamburg areas of Harburg, Mitte, Wandsbek,
North and Altona whilst also having points of contact in the Greater Hamburg
area.

Within Social Integration Support (SGB IX) we have service agreements for ASP, QPA, EPA and HFbK and within Youth & Family Support (SGB VIII) we have service agreements for Erziehungsbeistand (Educational Guardianship) and Sozialpädogische Familienhilfe (Social-Educational Family Support).

The goal of our work is to support clients to develop an independent and selfdefined life; clients to have an improved quality of life using a resource
orientated approach. This is a fundamental aspect of our work in supporting people with a mental illness aged 14 years and older.

ABeSa teams are multidisciplinary and we support clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, in particular from Afghan, German, and Persian, Turkish and Arabic cultures but also more than these! We also offer when required culturally sensitive support in the client's first language.

ABeSa is a member of the “Federal Association of Private Service Providers in
Social Services (Bundesverband der privaten Anbieter sozialer Dienste).
